Swirling Dreams contains some of the calmest music and most etherial ambient effects Runestone produced throughout the 1990's. All of the familiar Runestone signatures are to be found in this album. Weaving acoustic guitars, call and response keyboard arrangements, magical soundscapes and evocative backgrounds. Swirling Dreams represents a seamless and harmonious blending of the musical styles of both musicians.

The whispered words in the atmospheric third track are taken from the Book of Revelations

“Their faces were hidden by swirling clouds of light and seven lamps of fire burned before the throne, the fire of the Earthly Mother”

The picture painted by this quote speaks volumes about the imagery and sense of mystery to be found in Swirling Dreams.

Due to a mixture of personal circumstances and individual musical projects, this was to be final album produced by Runestone.

. . . at least, that was the thought in 1999.

Like the inevitable film sequel though, the story picks up again after a chance meeting 7 years later. This involved a pub, a few drinks and a chat about music. The world of recording technology had changed so much during this time and the notion of swapping a few ideas by producing some more Runestone work after so many years appealed to both musicians.

A few months later another album was ready for publication. Runestone was out of hibernation.
